We offer breath alcohol screening using police-grade breathalysers to Australian standards AS3547. We use the Drugsense OraScan instant screening machines for oral fluid instant machine reading. Each of our urine and oral screening devices complies with Australian standards.

Drug and Alcohol Screening Services

Our drug and alcohol screening services cover pre-employment, random, for cause, and critical incident screening. Depending on your requirements, we use instant screening, instant machine screening, and laboratory screening.

WHA offers the following drug and alcohol screening services tailored to specific requirements:

  • Urinary or oral fluid drug screening to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4308:2008 (Urine) - AS 4760 2019 (Oral Fluid).
  • Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) certified urine and oral fluid collection, screening and transport.
  • Fully compliant with NATA approved pathology screening and confirmation requirements.
  • Gas/Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (GCMS/LCMS) confirmatory testing by a NATA certified laboratory of non-negative instant results.

For instant urine drug screening, WHA uses a multidrug 6 Panel urine drug testing kit which tests for illicit drugs including:

  • Cannabis
  • Opiates
  • Methamphetamines
  • Amphetamines
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Cocaine

For instant and machine instant (Oral Fluid) drug screening, WHA uses a multidrug 5 Panel oral fluid drug testing kit which tests for illicit drugs including:

  • Cannabis
  • Opiates
  • Methamphetamines
  • Amphetamines
  • Cocaine

If random screening is carried out onsite, instant oral fluid drug screening is the most common method because it is accurate and efficient. Instant oral fluid testing can offer results in 5 minutes and will ensure your employees are fit for daily duties. However, they do not provide the same standard as a laboratory analysis as defined by the Australian Standards AS/NZS 4308:2008. The specimen will require confirmation by laboratory testing if a non-negative result is obtained.
