The health and fitness of drivers is a crucial consideration as it directly contributes to the safety of our roads. Workforce Health Assessors takes your employee's fitness to drive seriously with Fitness to Drive, Trucksafe, and Dangerous Goods Driver Medicals.
Drivers of heavy vehicles and dangerous goods, as well as drivers of small private and commercial vehicles, all have legal responsibilities with respect to their health. Driver assessments ensure a driver’s health is up to the standard of the job including sensory, cognitive, and motor function abilities.
Driver assessments keep the roads we share safe and benefit your business by improving the wellbeing of your workforce.
Fitness to Drive Medical
Medical conditions and their treatments may affect a driver’s sensory, cognitive, or motor function and can negatively influence a person’s ability to drive safely. Taxi drivers, couriers, Uber drivers, bus drivers, and truck drivers all need to undergo regular fitness to drive tests.
Dangerous Goods Driver Medical
It is extremely important that drivers of dangerous goods are fit to be behind the wheel to ensure both their safety and the safety of those around them on the road. Dangerous goods drivers are typically classified as drivers carrying more than 500 litres or kilograms of dangerous goods, which include flammable liquids, gases and solids, toxic substances, and oxidizing substances. Much like the other fitness tests, the Dangerous Goods Driver Medical focuses on conditions such as sleep disorders, vision and hearing problems, substance misuse, and blackouts.
Driver assessments are available at one of our nationwide WHA assessment centres or on-site for your convenience.
WHA is at the forefront of advanced and emerging assessment technology. We utilize our years of assessor experience to deliver comprehensive and efficient driver assessments.
For all drivers of commercial and private vehicles, Fitness to Drive tests are mandatory to assess whether an individual is fit to be behind the wheel.
For Dangerous Goods Drivers, a specific medical examination is required to ensure the individual meets the medical criteria involved.
These tests ensure the safety of both the driver and the community, and maintain the driver’s lifestyle and job-related mobility independence.
